WINK + YOU
CRAFTED FOR WOMEN BY WOMEN
No signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol (CBD) to healthy volunteers. CBD affects people differently, all starting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) —the system that helps regulate sleep, appetite, mood, motor control, immune function, pleasure, pain, reproduction, fertility, memory and temperature regulation. While the human body naturally produces endocannabinoids, the effects of CBD on the body vary person to person. Reasons for varied results may include:
GENETICS
Only 20% of humans have a healthy ECS with high levels of anandamide — the “bliss” molecule. Those with greater “bliss” levels are less likely to feel the effects of CBD, since their body already produces the intended results.
GENDER
Diet, stress + lifestyle influence endocannabinoid levels. Estrogen may enhance sensitivity to cannabis — particularly 1-2 days prior to ovulation when estrogen has peaked and begins to fall.
LIFESTYLE
Cannabis as a treatment provides a different experience than using cannabis recreationally. Once fighting off an ailment is complete, a person’s endocannabinoid levels are replenished, thus creating a feeling of normalcy. A healthy person, on the other hand, may use the same product and feel nothing at all or feel very different effects and thus, build a tolerance.
UNDERSTANDING CANNABIS
THC VS CBD
Choosing the path to hemp that is right for you can be overwhelming, regardless if you’re a first-time or returning user. WINK is dedicated to empowering women who want to enjoy the effects of cannabis and hemp-derived CBD products. Understanding your journey is a large part of your life with hemp.
The education is vast, but we're happy to guide you through the basics: CBD and THC are the two most prominent cannabinoids found in Cannabis, the plant genus that includes both CBD (hemp) + THC (marijuana).
Both interact with the body through the endocannabinoid system — an important physiologic system involved in establishing + maintaining human health by regulating a wide array of functions — some of which include: pain, mood, memory, immune response, sleep + cycles of cellular life.
The Cannabis plant contains 60+ naturally occurring, active compounds called cannabinoids. Of those 60+ compounds, Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol(THC) are the most common. The THC cannabinoid is responsible for producing the mind-altering psychoactive effects known as “the high.”
Unlike THC, the cannabinoid CBD is non-intoxicating yet still maintains the same therapeutic benefits of Cannabis without “the high.” Cannabis plants are divided into two crops: hemp (also known as Industrial Hemp) and marijuana— each with different cannabinoid ratios.
